screwed on my Costco window installation

I used the window installation program offered by costco.com to put in new windows at my house. They started leaking the same day and have leaked every since. I've been fighting with Costco to fix them for nearly a year now! I think we're just screwed.

I was not even aware Costco dealt in windows. I guess you learn something new every day. Although I do not think I would go to Costco for windows, as that would be like hiring somebody off the street to do my heart surgery.

I think this is a lesson learned about cheap is not always better. I would be calling the Better Business Bureau on them if it has been almost a year and the installation is not right. I think it is probably also time to bite the bullet and get a professional in there to repair them. If they continue to leak they will only cause more damage to your house and even more costly repairs.

Depending on the amount of damage that the poor installation has caused, you may have a civil suit against Costco, however I am sure that the installation team was probably independent contractors and not affiliated with Costco other than to be paid for the job.

I sincerely hope you can get Costco to fix this, however in this day and age most companies will only take action over something like this when you threaten legal action. It is sad but true and I hope you do not have to go that far. I miss the days when companies would admit they were in the wrong and fix things instead of jerking you around until you just give up.

My home was just upgraded with SolarMax windows, a sliding door, and a radient barrier. I think the sales experience wasn't really great and seemed a little unorganized, but the window & door installation team was awesome and paid really close attention to detail. It ended up being more expensive (nothing cost more than quoted) than going to Home Depot or Lowes, but the window quality and warranty is unbeatable. I'd definitely use them again if I had a second chance to do it all over again. I'm very happy with the product and services.
