I usually love Yankee Candle when I have coupons. They are so expensive otherwise. I had printed off 2 coupons, save $10 off $25 and then buy 2 large candles and get 2 free. I tried to use both of them one time and they told me I could not. I was even ringing them up separate. I have never had problems before so I was shocked! I donít know what Yankee is trying to pull, they said itís a new policy! It sucks!
I hear you, I had the same 2 coupons and I printed them off several times (for my friends and me). We love the store too, spend an hour in there sniffing each candle before we make our purchase.
I was really excited because Yankee Candle had all votives, tea lights and tarts on sale for $1 each. That is a steal there! I was able to get $15 (15 of these) and then some smaller candles (they were on sale too Ė 2 for $15). That was my first order and I was pretty impressed Ė should have cost me $20 Ė and it was all going in Christmas baskets for gifts!
My second order was 4 large candles. They were all $25 each so it should have cost me $50 for the 4 of them with the 2nd coupon. That is $12.50 each and these candles are the best. They burn longer and the scent is there the whole time, so the quality is still amazing! Of course these were going as gifts too (minus one I was keeping).
2 of my friends had the same thing going on. They were super excited.
So I went through first and the cashier was shocked. These are great coupons! Where did you get them? So I told her the website and she wrote it down to print her own off. She rung out my 2 orders separate and all was good. I had saved a ton of money and I had at least 5 gifts done. My friends were impressed too.
Then the manager came out of hiding and was watching the cashier as she rang up my friend. She told her that she could not use both coupons at 1 time. We explained that we were doing 2 orders. The manager said NO, itís the same shopping trip and I have never seen those coupons before. I said, well I just did the same thing. She seriously wanted me to re-ring my itemsÖ as if!
So both of my friends asked the cashier to hold the large candles for them. They rang out their smaller orders and we left the store. We shopped for a bit more after taking the candles out to the car. About an hour later we went back in and they purchased the 4 large candles. The manager was mad, but she said she could not do anything about it. She actually walked to the back of the store. The cashier was smiling from ear to ear, saying that the manager called someone to check to see if the coupons were valid and they were.
Next time you shop, go to the car and then go back in Ė itís a different shopping trip that way!
